Board Description: The board of directors has 20 members with representation from each of the 4 geographic branches. Branch Representatives and officers are elected and serve 2 year terms; Student Representatives serve 1 year terms; President serves 1 year as President-Elect and 2 years as President.

Katie Mommaerts LCSW

First Vice President

Katherine Mommaerts, LCSW is Assistant Clinical Professor and Online Field Coordinator in the Department of Social Work at Northern Arizona University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Masters in Social Work in 2006. Katie brings with her more than ten years of direct social work experience in various roles across the life span. She has worked in a variety of settings, such as: integrated care, hospice, school social work, and community mental/behavioral health. She obtained an Infant/Family Clinical Practice Certificate from the Harris Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Training and Institute. Katie is also a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Health program at NAU.

Lilly Pérez-Freerks, LMSW

Lilly Pérez has been a professional social worker since 1999 and is an ASU alumnus. She has extensive experience in both direct practice and macro social work. Lilly has been with ASU School of Social Work since 2004, supporting field education, quality assurance and program assessment. Lilly is also a social work educator providing student instruction in a variety of social work courses.

Bahney has been a social worker working in a wide variety of settings in multiple states since 1974. She is currently the Deputy Director at the Arizona Council of Human Service Providers working on policy issues related to behavioral health and child welfare.

Bianca Harper, DCSW, LCSW

Bianca Harper is a clinical associate professor at the USC Suzanne Dworak Peck School of Social Work and has been a social worker for fourteen years. She received her Doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters of Social Work at Arizona State University. She is a licensed clinical social worker and her practice and research interests include child maltreatment, traumatic stress, trauma informed treatment, and pedagogy.

April Reed, MSW

April Reed has been a social worker since 2003. She workers with individuals with disabilities and their families to support independence, and helps educate that community to become engaged advocates. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2005.
